Dutch Floriade Tour 2012

Tour Overview

Once every 10 years the World Horticultural Expo is held in the Netherlands. In 2012 this will be staged over 7 months in the Dutch town of Venlo. Following three nights in Amsterdam, we spend three more nights near Venlo and a final night in Brussels, Belgium. In addition to numerous visits and sightseeing we have also included the wonderful palace and gardens of Het Loo, the Mondo Verde Gardens, and of course the magnificent Floriade.

Tour Highlights

• Spend a full day in the world famous Dutch Floriade – the huge horticultural event held only once every 10 years and enjoy a cable car ride 30 metres above the landscaped gardens and pavilions
• Enjoy 3 nights in the historic city of Amsterdam, visit the windmills of Zaanse Schans and the quaint fishing village of Volendam
• Dine in the character restaurant ‘Haesje Claes’
• See a real ‘Dutch Flower Auction’ at Aalsmeer Flower Market and cruise on Amsterdam’s canals in a glass topped canal boat
• Stay 3 nights in the Venlo region and visit Maastricht and Valkenburg
• Visit the splendid gardens of Paleis Het Loo and explore the gardens of the world at the Mondo Verde Gardens
• Spend one night in Brussels and explore the delightful Belgian city of Mechelen
