Come explore a hidden land virtually ignored by mainstream tourism. Discover ancient Etruscan cities, rock carved roads and frescoed tombs, spectacular perched medieval castle towns, medieval cities with catacomb labyrinths, a colossal man-made waterfall and a park full of giants and monsters. Lunches and dinners in amazing locations including on a tree shaded terrace overlooking the classic Val d’Orcia - those delightful, undulating Tuscan Hills that so inspired the Renaissance painters. Visit Luxembourg, Koblenz, Valkenburg, cruise to the wine taverns of Rüdesheim and stand on a massive ‘treehouse’ with sweeping views down over the River Saar. And in July… we have special departures to visit Maastricht to enjoy the André Rieu concerts.

A beautifully paced tour commencing with a four night stay in the heart of the Black Forest to enjoy Strasbourg and the ‘pearl of Gengenbach’, explore Colmar, Triberg and Freiburg, sip wine in a village on the 'route Alsace du Vin' and stroll around the Flower Island of Mainau. With three more nights amongst King Ludwig’s ‘fairytale’ castles we visit Neuschwanstein, Linderhof, Fussen and Oberammergau plus take a cable car up high into the Bavarian Alps. Commencing in Rome and ending in Palermo in Sicily we spend 5 nights in the regions of Puglia and Matera - the heel and ankle of Italy, before crossing to the glorious island of Sicily for a further 11 nights. Where we stay makes so much of a difference. Avoiding the usual run of the mill hotels, we choose to stay in the white washed, ‘Bee Hive’ Trulli cottages in Alberobello, the extraordinary luxurious ‘Sassi’ caves in Matera, Baglio ‘farmhouse’ hotels and delightful villas. Staying 4 nights in the heart of Taormina we experience a cable car ride and 4WD journey to the top of smouldering Mount Etna, before enjoying a lazy lunch in ‘Godfather country’. See the stunning Roman mosaics at Piazza Armerina and in Agrigento we wake up to views across The Valley of the Temples. After a morning in hilltop Erice we enjoy a delightful cruise to Cape San Vito. Add special dinners, wine tastings and a host of unique highlights and extra visits and you will immediately see how Italy’s deep south and Sicily is quite extraordinary.

Imagine… a more leisurely paced tour with two, three, four and even five night stays doing justice to Italy’s evocative regions. We stay four nights in the magnificent Italian Lakes District visiting Orta San Giulio, Macugnaga, Lake Maggiore and we cruise on Como to Bellagio. Following two nights in a dreamy Italian castle we enjoy five nights touring Tuscany visiting Florence, the Cinque Terre, Lucca, Pisa, Siena, and San Gimignano, two nights in the Umbrian Hills, and as a finale, three nights on the Amalfi Coast visiting the Isle of Capri and picturesque Ravello. Then there is the food, the wine, the ambience and the time to get “sotto la pelle”… under the skin.

Join us on an incredible journey through the intriguing towns and regions of Spain and Portugal. Not only do we visit classic cities such as Granada, Madrid, Seville, Porto and Toledo but we also visit those wonderful, often ignored cities such as Cordoba, Ronda, Évora and Salamanca. Because we have specially designed this unique tour itinerary with 2 and 3 night stops we have been able to include numerous additional excursions to extraordinary places such as Guimarães, the wonderful Palace de Pena in Sintra, the medieval fortified village of Obidos, and Braga. Along with numerous other visits we enjoy Portuguese Pastel de Nata (custard pies) in Lisbon, sip port in Porto, Vinho Verde in the magnificent gardens of the Aveleda Wine Estate and enjoy a cruise along the incredibly scenic Alto Duoro. This tour is so very different!
Visit and see the classic Scandinavian sights such as Bergen, the Flam Railway and Geiranger. Now add unique highlights such as iconic Pulpit Rock, lovely Stavanger, the incredible Atlantic Road, and the glorious Lofoten Islands. Sleep in historic ‘Rorbuer’ fisherman’s cabins over the Reine Fjord, visit an enormous Viking Longhouse, follow the Troll's Road and take a power boat out to see Jules Verne's 'Maelstrom'. This is the real Norway!
