Support the Mo as he rides for Cancer
The 2015 Rio Tinto Ride to Conquer Cancer® benefiting QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute is a unique, two-day cycling event taking place on 15-16 August, 2015. Riding for two days may sound like a lot, but it’s meant to be. Make no mistake, this event isn’t just for athletes or cycling enthusiasts. This event is for anyone who believes in a cure.
2015 marks 5 years of The Rio Tinto Ride to Conquer Cancer and my wife, Julie-anne, and I are riding over 200km Brisbane to Canungra return to raise money for cancer research.
Cancer has affected both Julie-anne and my life with loved ones and friends being affected by this terrible disease. Some have lived due to the research however there is more to be done.
Julie-anne and I have each pledged $2,500 for cancer research at QIMR, Queensland Institute of Medical Research, with all funds raised going directly to cancer research. That's a total of $5,000 we are aiming to achieve.
This fight against cancer really matters. Cancer is becoming more common and in our lifetime, incredibly, one in two of the people you know will be diagnosed with one form of cancer or another. That means someone very close to you will be disagnosed with it.
